Carbon Dioxide Monitor & Alarm
Carbon dioxide is naturally present in our atmosphere, however just an increase of 0.5% can have negative effects on us. An unchecked increase to levels of CO2 can result in tiredness, light headedness, nausea and in the most extreme cases death.
Ever improving insulation in homes has had the adverse effect of also reducing ventilation which in turn means that naturally occurring CO2 can build up. In light of this, Scottish building regulations now require carbon dioxide monitors in the principal bedroom of dwellings where infiltrating air rates are less than 15m3/hr/m2 @ 50 Pa.
Green Lighting’s Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Monitor and Alarm uses an infrared (CO2) sensor making it a highly accurate and reliable alarm. There is a NDIR (nondispersive infrared) (CO2) sensor inside, with special self-calibration system, to ensure measurements are always precise.
It uses a three colour (green/yellow/red) LCD backlit screen indicating ventilation level based on (CO2) measurement (optimal/moderate/poor) and an inbuilt mutable buzzer. Also, to prevent distraction, the backlight brightness can be adjusted or turned off. The LCD screen cycles through 2 different displays, changing every 10 seconds. These modes are:
- Current CO2 levels (PPm) with
- The average CO2 levels over the last 24 hours (in PPm).
- The highest CO2 level in the last 24 hours (in PPm).
With its quality and features our Carbon Dioxide Monitor & Alarm is fully compliant with Scottish Buildings regulations.
